I typically go to Google and look at the reviews. Typically, if you are in the top 3 results, those are the business I am calling. The other great thing about being in the top 3 of Google maps is that it is an easier sale. For some reason, because you are in the top 3, people automatically assume that you are the expert in your field. They subconsciously believe that Google has you there for a reason mainly that you are the expert in your industry.

I don’t know of any painting business that I have worked with that has complained about being in Google maps. It is the best lead-generating spot.

My last recommendation is Yelp. There are two options for Yelp. You can have an organic listing. This is a free listing that as people scroll past the ads they will come across different painting companies in the area. I have ranked many companies in this organic spot. However, the downside about Yelp is that the first 10 spots as you scroll down are ads.

I do know some guys that will spend a lot of money with Yelp advertising. I think you have to be comfortable with spending a lot money on these leads. I wouldn’t do this until I had a lot of reviews built up on Yelp. It could be a waste of money to advertise without many reviews.
